Admission to the D.A. program and approval by the National Center for Community College
Education. Provides a supervised internship involving teaching at a community college
or--in the case of experienced teachers--work in other nonteaching settings.
Internships should be designed to improve teaching skills, to upgrade knowledge in
the teaching discipline, or both.
897 Directed Reading in Community College Education (1-6:0:0).Prerequisites:
Admission to the D.A. program and approval by the National Center for Community College
Education. Allows independent reading on a topic agreed to by the student and a faculty
member assigned by The National Center for Community College Education.
998 Doctoral Project Preparation (1-3:0:0).Prerequisites: Admission to
the D.A. program and permission of the director or associate director of the National
Center for Community College Education. Provides independent study leading to the
development of a proposal for a doctoral project.
999 Doctoral Project Research (credits vary).Prerequisites: Advancement
to candidacy and permission of the director or associate director of the National
Center for Community College Education. Provides independent study on the doctoral
project.
