What Is a Peer Advisor?
Peer Advisors are upperclass students who are academically successful and involved in campus life. Their primary role is to help you learn about the campus, get involved, and meet your peers. At least one peer advisor is assigned to every University 100 class, to assist with teaching and planning events for students.

Aaron Arenas
Hey guys! My name is Aaron Arenas. I will be a sophomore here at Mason majoring in Psyhology. I was born in Groton, Connecticut and was raised in Virginia Beach, VA. Other than Peer Advisors, I am also a Mason Ambassador and a photographer at Broadside. If you guys see me anywhere on campus, don't hesitate to say hello. I hope you guys have a great Freshman year here at Mason!
Alison Jones
I'm a senior Marketing major at George Mason University, with a minor in Tourism and Events Management. I am involved in many clubs and activities on campus including Peer Advisors, Mason Ambassadors, Patriot Platoon, and Intramural sports. I am also a former Mason athlete. I also stay busy working as a student manager at Student Union Building I and the lead campus sales manager for mark. cosmetics at Mason. I am originally from Yorktown, Virginia.
Alissa Brower
Hello! My name is Alissa Brower and I will be a senior at George Mason University in Fall 2009. I am originally from New Jersey, but I have absolutely fallen in love with the Washington, D.C. area. As long as everything goes as planned, I will be graduating with a degree in Government and International Politics, with minors in International and Comparative Studies and Non-profit Studies. Aside from my academic pursuits, I am very active in extra-curricular activities at Mason. Not only am I a Peer Advisor, I am also a Mason Ambassador, an Honors student, and an intramural athlete.
Brittany Carter (BC)
My name is BC, or my not so secret alias, Brittany Carter. I am a Senior at Mason Studying Conservation through NCC and minoring in women and gender studies. I am really interested in outdoor education, human and animal activism, gender theory, and fighting HIV/AIDS. I enjoy crafts, outside activities, snacks, and high fives.
Blake Silver
My name is Blake Silver, I am a sophomore English major at Mason. I am looking forward to my second year peer advising. During my free time I enjoy running, working out, and going to the beach.
Conor O'Malley
I was born in Manhattan, New York but being in the nomadic family of the federal government, we did not stay too long. I have lived in six different states (New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, Maryland, Maine and Florida) and moved seven times.
I am a history major and double minoring in Conflict Analysis & Resolution, and Religious Studies. No, I do not plan on being a teacher, like every person in the world asks me, I would like to work for the federal government. I am still at the beginning of my college career so I am leaving everything still open though.
Courtney Wimer
Hey Guys! My name is Courtney Wimer and I am a senior Tourism and Events Management major, Anthropology minor. This will be my second year as a Peer Advisor and I have loved every minute of it! I am a brother in Alpha Phi Omega, Mason’s co-ed service fraternity and also work part time. I am passionate about helping others, travelling as often as I can, challenging myself and those around me to be their best, and graduating a semester early with honors next December!
Crisy Meschieri
I am originally from Argentina, but I grew up close by in McLean, Virginia. After graduating from Langley High School two years ago I came down the street to Mason to major in Graphic Design. In the past I have worked as an engraver, design editor for the university’s newspaper, and a camp counselor. In my free time I enjoy drawing, painting, spending time with friends, and playing the guitar.
Deelynn Leigh
I am currently a senior here at Mason. I am majoring in Psychology and English with a concentration in Poetry for my English major, therefore classifying me as a double major. Besides being a Senior Peer Advisor (SPA), I am the president of the Undergraduate English Society (UES). I have been a Peer Advisor for 3 years and haven't stop loving it. I enjoy writing, singing, praise dancing, and exercising. If I could choose one word to describe me, it would be learner because I am constantly wanting to learn new concepts.
Deena Smith
My name is Deena Smith. I love Mason! I am extensively involved in different organizations around campus and am always at events that my schedule permits. As far as the basic info about me, I am a rising senior, Psych major, trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up and choose my path in grad school. I love Chocolate Chip cookie dough ice cream, peanut butter, and old cartoons and Disney classics.
Evangelia Tsapos
Evangelia Tsapos is currently a sophomore at George Mason University. She is a Biology major and hopes to pursue a career in medicine in the future. She is vice-president of the Hellenic Society, and an active member of the Freshman and Sophomore Honor Societies. Her hobbies include playing soccer, basketball, swimming, and she has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well. According to her close friends, she has a habit of stealing writing utensils, has an unhealthy obsession with LOST, and is capable of maniacal laughter. She loves Mason and is looking forward to being a Peer Advisor in the Fall 2009 Semester!
Heather Wynne
Heather Wynn is a junior majoring in community health. After she graduates she would like to attend grad school and work towards a masters in public health. Along with being a Peer Advisor, she is also an active brother of Alpha Phi Omega, the National Service Fraternity. Some of her other hobbies include listening to music (especially The Shins), hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and rock climbing every chance she gets.
James Snyder
My name is James Snyder and I am a junior studying exercise science here at George Mason. I enjoy being active and spend much of my time running as a varsity member of Mason's Cross Country and Track teams. I also work as a fitness instructor at the Aquatic Center. Being outdoors is very appealing to me and going camping with my friends is my favorite way to pass time in the summers. After finishing up my degree at George Mason I would like to pursue a master's degree in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance.
Kaitlyn Miller
Kaitlyn is excited to be returning for her second year of peer advising! She is a senior communication major with a concentration in public relations. She works as a preschool assistant teacher and is always looking for new ways to get involved on campus.
Kaitlyn Spink
Hello, my name is Kaitlyn Spink and I am currently a sophomore. I am from New Jersey but I like to call Mason my home. My major is undecided but I hope to go into Business Management with minors in Economics and Leadership Studies. I am involved with Mason Ambassadors and the Emerging Leaders program. In addition to that I am also a founding member of SHH (Students Helping Honduras). I consider myself to be an adventures person who wants to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of it. I’m a very outgoing person and look forward to working with all of the incoming freshman.
Kristen White
My name is Kristen White and I am currently a sophomore here at George Mason. I am an English major with a concentration in Cultural Studies and a minor in Psychology. I write for the Style section of the Broadside and have just been selected to write for VoxPop, our student run magazine. I am a member of the Undergraduate English Society. I love to read, spend time with my close friends, and go to concerts. I have very high expectations for myself and in the future I would like to work toward my Masters Degree and travel around the world.
Lauren Tokarski
My name is Lauren Tokarski and I am from Yorktown, Virginia where our claim to fame is the Revolutionary war battlefields! I am a senior finishing up my degree in Graphic Design. I love to do all things creative from drawing to decorating cupcakes! After graduating I hope to do something within the magazine business. I am a part of the GMU Program Board, NSCS and started as a Peer Advisor last year and really enjoyed the experience! I think that University 100 is a great way to be able to learn all the ins and outs of Mason and I am very excited for this upcoming year!

Hello! My name is Lyndsey Lustig and I'm a freshman and I'm very excited to be a new Peer Adviser for University 100! I'm from Virginia Beach, VA and I'm an integrative studies major through New Century College. I love trying new experiences and living life to the fullest. I'm also a member of Alpha Phi Fraternity.
Maria Cianfichi
Maria Cianfichi is currently a sophomore, majoring in Communications with a concentration in journalism and a minor in French. She is from Baltimore, MD and loving George Mason. Maria also writes for the Broadside and is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, co-ed service fraternity. In her spare time Maria enjoys hanging out with friends, and traveling as much as possible. This will be Maria's first year as a Peer Advisor and is really looking forward to working with other PA's and the future freshmen.
Meredith Forbes
Hey, Meredith here! I am a Senior Peer Advisor and absolutely love it. I have just returned from a semester abroad in Madrid, where I fell in love with Spain and had my eyes opened up to the world. College is a time full of amazing experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. I believe in living through your experiences, and learning as much as you can from every day. Being a Senior this year is bitter sweet. I love Mason and value my experience here in college so much, and am so excited for what the future holds after graduation. I am studying Elementary Education in New Century College with a minor in Spanish, and hope to one day teach English in a different country.

My name is Nader Hussein. In the fall, I will be a junior studying Biology with a minor in Nutrition. I am probably one of the cooler PA's and look forward to teaching another section this fall.
Nicole Jerome
Hey Guys! I?m Nicole, a senior at Mason. I was a PA last Fall and loved it, so I?m back again this year. I?m very active on campus in between working in the admissions office, the many clubs I?m in, and a full time student. This is my last semester at Mason, so I want to make it the best yet! I?m really excited to be back and I look forward to working with all of you!
Rebecca Dell
Rebecca is a sophomore from Vermont. She’s active in Campus Crusade for Christ at Mason and plays intramural sports. She likes to hang out with her family and friends, and her favorite food is chocolate cake.
Scott McCarthy
I was born and raised in Chester, NJ. I have always enjoyed playing sports like basketball, baseball, and soccer. I currently play on the GMU Ultimate Frisbee team which competes against schools from all over the east coast. I also play trumpet in the Mason pep band, "The Green Machine." I love to listen to music. I bought a record player and a bunch of old records because I love classic rock and the awesome sound of vinyl. I also enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers, O.A.R, and just about anything that I can dance to. I am generally a pretty easy going person and I like to enjoy life.
