International Week 2009 (April 4 to 11)

International Flags Display in Johnson Center

International Week is a well established tradition at George Mason University to celebrate the presence of the university's international and multicultural student population. For immigrant students International Week at Mason provides an opportunity to share their cultural heritages. Many of Mason's students are involved in more than 20 International/Multicultural Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) in the Office of Student Activities. These organizations cover a variety of ethnic groups, and a number of these organizations sponsor International Week events. Students are responsible for all the programs happening during the week from the fashion show to the cricket tournament. Good ethnic food and superlative international music and dance performances draw attention of the local community since the very inception of the International Week. The International Week Chair and Vice Chair (selected among the qualified and interested students) oversee the entire student planning process, with cabinet members working specifically on the individual events. International Week leadership positions are now available through the Office of Student Activities. If you are interested, please fill out an Application form.
