Commencement 2010
Here is your chance to be part of history at Mason!
Step up to the podium and compete for the honor of being the student speaker at Commencement 2010. The competition is open to the entire graduating class.
To be considered, please submit a transcript of a five to seven minute Commencement speech on an appropriate topic of your choice.
Examples of past topics follow:
- How my education at Mason has prepared me to deal with a rapidly changing world.
- What being part of a diverse student population at Mason has meant to my education.
- How the use of technology has affected my education.
Entries should be sent to the Office of Events Management, MSN 3G3, Science & Tech II, Room 160, by 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 7th, 2010. Entries may also be faxed to Events Management at 703-993-2112 or emailed to jgladbac@gmu.edu.
The student speaker for 2010 will be announced in the Spring of 2010.

Graduate Student Speaker Commencement 2009
Duval Anthony Bodden is graduating today with a BA in communication with a concentration in public relations and a minor in theater. He is from Westchester, New York, where he attended Iona Preparatory School.
A proud alumnus of the Mason Forensics Tean, Duval was ranked third in the nation in dramatic performance at the 2007 American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament. In 2008, he spent a semester in New York City interning at House Production and Casting where he served as a casting assistant for commercial print and television ads.
Next fall, he will begin graduate work in performance studies at California State University at Long Beach.
He would like to thank his parents, Cynthia and Duval, his loving grandmother, sister, family, friends, his partner, and Peter Pober and the George Mason Forensics Team for all their support.
