Alpha Kappa Psi
is a co-ed national professional business organization dedicated to fostering the
professional and personal development of its membership. The overall goal of Alpha Kappa
Psi is to prepare for future success. Membership in Alpha Kappa Psi provides real
world experience and opportunities that exceed the traditional classroom experience.
Women and men of diverse ages and backgrounds enhance their business education through
networking opportunities (on campus and beyond), professional seminars, improved faculty
access, social opportunities, leadership experience, and involvement in the community.
- Alpha Kappa Psi was
founded in 1904 at New York University. Today we are among the twenty largest national
college fraternities with over 170,000 members.
- Over two-thirds of
nations top 50 business schools have Alpha Kappa Psi chapters (U.S. News and World
Report).
- Alpha Kappa Psi offers
its members professional development programs and networking opportunities through the
national Success Institutes, national conventions, the Academy for Development of Future
Business Leaders, and regional meetings.
- Prominent alumni
include Sam Walton, Richard M. Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Malcolm Forbes, Jr., J.E. Davis
(founder of Winn-Dixie), J.C. Penney, and Bill Bradley.
Alpha Kappa Psi is
recognized in the national business community for its outstanding members and makes a
great addition to your resume.
Each person values
membership uniquely, but some of the most obvious benefits include:
- Meeting new people and
having fun!
- Developing management,
leadership, and teamwork skills
- Gaining valuable
experience in communication, marketing, and public speaking
- Becoming more involved
with your campus and local community
- Networking with
students, faculty and business leaders associated with your field of study
- Adding credentials to
your resume
Students interested in
learning more about membership in Alpha Kappa Psi are invited to attend several rush
events held at the beginning of each semester. Prospects should first attend one of
several thirty-minute general information sessions to get an overview of our organization
and the pledge process.
Information
will be posted when it becomes available
At the
conclusion of the information sessions, prospects and their guests will be invited to meet
the members at social and professional events held in the following two weeks. These
events provide an opportunity for the prospects to become acquainted with the membership
and vice versa. After the rush-end party we hope that prospects will have enough
information to know if they wish to be considered for membership and the members will know
if they wish to invite prospects to pledge the fraternity.
