Arthritis Research
Our International philanthropy is Arthritis Research. Since 1967, nearly 1.3 million in grants have been awarded to qualified researchers to find the causes and cures for arthritis.

One of the founding principles of Alpha Omicron Pi is to be of service to others - to bring into the world around us a spirit of love, not for self-glory, but as an opportunity to give something back to our communities. Each AOII chapter and its members may choose to organize and participate in various fund-raising and hands-on service events.

  • Arthritis is the nation's leading cause of disability.
  • 66 million Americans (1 in 3) and 300,000 children have one of the more than 100 types of arthritis.
  • Over 4 million Canadians have a form of arthritis.
  • Arthritis affects 3 times more women than men.
  • 8.4 million young adults ages 18 to 40 are affected, including an increasing number of college age women.
  • THERE IS NO CURE.

Since 1967 well over one million dollars has been raised by AOIIs and donated through the Foundation to support the mission of conquering arthritis once and for all!
