How do I sign up to be a reviewer for IOOB 2006?

The IOOB review committee is looking for graduate students, faculty members, and applied professionals in IO Psychology, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, and related fields to review papers for acceptance to the 2006 IOOB Conference. To sign up, complete this short reviewer sign-up sheet online! Invite your colleagues - there can never be too many reviewers! Sign-ups will be closed as of Dec. 23, 2005.
Note: submissions beginning Nov. 1 will be evaluated on a rolling basis!

As of Nov. 1, how much does registration cost, and how do I get my discount?

Along with the "Branding" theme of the conference, we offered a $5 discount (pre-registration fee of $45; standard registration fee of $55) to those who submitted a 150-word branding strategy at the time of registration. The purpose of the exercise is to use our graduate student creativity to develop some clever ideas for how to increase the visibility of our field in the business community and among the general public!

The top three (3) most creative ideas will be announced at the conference and rewarded with a full refund for registration. The opportunity to submit a branding strategy and receive a discount on registration has expired.

Which paper topics will be considered?

Papers that are both empirical and theoretical will be accepted for this conference, involving all research topics relevant to the Industrial Organizational Psychology or Organizational Behavior research fields.

How do I submit my paper?

Visit our submission page for all the details!

Which hotel is being used as the conference hotel?

The conference hotel will be the Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax, VA. The discounts end on February 2nd, so book soon! Please see our Travel Information page for more details!

I am interested in flying in for the conference. Will transportation be provided from the airport?

YES! On the first morning/afternoon of the conference (Feb. 24, 2006), we will be offering complimentary shuttle service from Dulles International Airport (IAD), as well as from Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) via the Vienna Metro Station. This transportation will take you from the airport to the conference hotel, from where you will take another shuttle to the conference at GMU. These shuttles will operate at fixed times throughout the conference, and will offer return transportation to both local airports early Sunday (Feb. 26) afternoon. For more details, check out our Travel page.

What is the best way to get to Farifax, VA by car?

Fairfax, VA is just west of the interchange of Highways 66 and 495 in Northern Virginia. The conference hotel and GMU can both be accessed easily from Hwy 66 west of 495 and Washington, D.C. (details to come). Visit our travel page for the hotel address, map, and directions, and we will mail to all registrants maps of and directions to the GMU campus inside the conference program.

NOTE: We strongly encourage those who arrive in private automobiles to use their own transportation throughout the conference. George Mason is only a short drive from the hotel, and the complimentary shuttles will be running only at fixed times at the beginning and end of the conference each day.
Thank you!

Where will the conference activities take place?

While the Hyatt Fair Lakes is the official hotel for the 2006 IOOB Conference, the conference activities will be held on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University. Complimentary shuttles will be running between the hotel and GMU daily prior to and after the conference activities. More details, including maps of GMU, will be included in the program.

What is the best way to get to D.C. from the conference?

Washington, D.C. is easily accessible from both the GMU campus and the Hyatt Fair Lakes, via Highway 66 or the Washington Metrorail system. Limited transportation to the Vienna Metro Station will be provided from the Hyatt Fair Lakes for an evening out in the city. Otherwise, the local Metro station (Vienna/Fairfax - GMU) is just a short cab ride away from both the hotel and GMU.
