Moot Court Board Mission
  • To train all law students in legal writing, research, analysis, and oral advocacy skills in a realistic and challenging environment;
  • To organize competing teams from among the Board whose preparation and skills will reflect the quality of legal scholarship at GMUSL to the legal community; and
  • To provide an organized forum for the cultivation and administration of Moot Court competitions.

The Board prepares moot court teams for extramural competitions, including the National Moot Court Competition. The Board also assists non-member George Mason Law students in developing written and oral skills.

Moot Court Board members also organize two annual intramural moot court competitions: the Upper Class Competition and the First Year Competition.

The Board also hosts an extramural competition open to law schools nationwide, the Manne Law and Economics Moot Court Competition. The competition seeks to enhance law school students' understanding of the application of economic principles to legal problems.
