Extramurals
 
The Moot Court Board members participate in a variety of extramural competitions, including the National Moot Court Competition. 2006-08 have been particularly banner years for the GMU Moot Court Board:
· Leland Jones and Whitney Rolig WON the George Washington University
National Security Law Moot Court Competition.

· Steve Swart, Erica Radcliffe, and Kasey Kimball WON the Gabrielli
Family Law Competition (a win for GMUSL for the second year in a row).

· J.C. Estevez and Robert May WON the Herbert Wechsler National Criminal
Law Moot Court Competition at the University of Buffalo.

· Katie Crytzer and Nancy Lunsford WON the Federal Bar Association Moot
Court Competition.

· Stacey Pratt and Jeremy Williams won best brief and advanced to the
quarterfinals of the Fordham Securities Law Competition.

· Pat Hitchens and Susan Courtwright-Rodriguez won best brief at the ACS
Constance Baker Motley Competition.

· Echo Schaub, Ed O'Shea, and Rebecca Thacher made it to the
quarterfinals of the Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court
Competition. I heard they were eliminated by the team with the best
brief. Good show, guys.

· Ryan Schmalzle and Michael Petrino were eliminated in the
quarterfinals by the team with the best brief at the Evans Competition
in Madison, Wisconsin. "We smoked them in the argument, though. That's
my story, and I'm sticking to it."

· Donna Woodward participated in the 2nd Annual George Washington
National Religious Freedom Moot Court Competition and made it to the
quarterfinals.

· Moot Court Board members Adeel Bashir, Alex Morris, and Lucas Kline
made it to semi-finals in the Mid-Atlantic Round of the 49th Annual
Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition at George Washington
University. Lucas Kline won best oralist.

· The team of Kim Bierenbaum, Rocky King and Tony Schiavetti won the award for Best Brief at the 57th Annual National Moot Court Competition in New York City. Additionally, they were the Region IV Runners Up and made it to the Octo-Finals in the National Finals.

· The team of Al Clarke and Samantha Mortlock outperformed 34 other law school teams to be declared winner of the 17th Annual National First Amendment Moot Court Competition held at the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University.

· The team of Melanie Fett, Andrea Loveless, and Pete Whelan took first place in the 19th Annual Domenick L. Gabrielli Family Law National Moot Court Competition held at Albany Law School.

· The team of Jeremy Kidd and Robert Spendlove finished as Runners-Up in the Fifth International Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition held at Oxford.

· The team of Jesse Coleman, Joe Folio, Elizabeth Bailey, Marian Lawson, and Lucy Jewett advanced to the Semi-Final Round in the South Central Regional of the The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

· The team of Chuck Roman and Ryan Rogers advanced to the Semi-Final Round in the Evan A. Evans Constitutional Law Competition held at the University of Wisconsin School of Law. Additionally, the team brought home honors for the Competition's Best Brief.

· The team of Ashley Craw and Jonathan Compton advanced to the Quarter-Final Round in the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment and Communications Law Moot Court Competition.

· The team of David Rostker, Jeremy Tigan, and Jesse Morales advanced to Quarter-Final Round in the August A. Rendigs, Jr. National Products Liability Moot Court Competition held at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

· The team of Tom Julian and Chris Pickens advanced to the Semi-Final Round in the Constance Baker Motley National Moot Court Competition.
