George Mason University's Vietnamese Student Association is part of a larger entity called the Union of North American Vietnamese Association (UNAVSA). Every year UNAVSA hosts a Collective Philanthropy Project (CPP) which GMU VSA works hard to contribute to at each hosted event.

The Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation celebrates and promotes pride in being Americans of Vietnamese descent. This year, we will work with them towards our mutual goal in furthering cultural awareness and exploring our self-identity.

Last year we worked with VIETHOPE, an organization focused on improving the socioeconomic condition of Vietnam. Their goal is to support programs that educate the children of Vietnam, in the hopes that they can reach their fullest potential that they have been deprived of in years passed. Last year we raised over $1500 for this cause.

A past project has been with the Vietnamese Overseas Initiative for Conscience Empowerment (VOICE), an organization whose role is to fight against the human trafficking of abandoned Vietnamese refugees, women, and children.

A past project was with the Catalyst Foundation. The Catalyst Foundation works toward improving the lives of poor and abandoned children in Vietnam. GMU VSA raised $1900 towards their cause.
