New COVID Policies

Mason will require students to be vaccinated, lift most masking requirements, lighten physical distancing rules, and expects faculty and staff to get their shots. You’ll still need to complete the Mason COVID Health Check.

$20 Million Program

Mason's Enlisted to Medical Degree Preparatory Program, a partnership with the Uniformed Services University of Health Services, gets a five-year extension.

A Space to Create

Arlington Campus’s Vernon Smith Hall has been converted into an innovation pilot space, home to two research labs and a law clinic. One team of faculty and student researchers is working on autonomous vehicles.

No Undergrad Tuition Increase

The 2021-22 budget includes a modest graduate tuition increase to help fund stipends and postdoc fellowships, and a student fee increase to strengthen student support and success services.

Accredited Arboretum

The George Mason University Arboretum earned Level II accreditation from ArbNet, the only international accreditation program specific to arboreta. The Arboretum is now featured as an accredited arboretum in the Morton Register of Arboreta, an international database of the world’s arboreta and gardens dedicated to woody plants.

Explore the Wonders of the Arcadia Art Installation

Arcadia is a year-long public art project using sensors and computer software to translate the natural biorhythms of medicinal and edible plants into a stream of ever-changing music and light. 

Arcadia may be experienced live online 24 hours a day or from outside the Presidents Park Greenhouse on the Fairfax Campus following Mason’s social-distancing guidelines.
