Emergency Loan Program

The Emergency Loan Fund has been established by the Gerson Trust. This loan is to be used for unplanned educationally related expenses only. Please note that tuition and fees are not considered an unplanned expense.

The applicant must be currently enrolled as a student at George Mason University with a minimum of 6 credits at the time of application. In addition, the applicant cannot have any "Holds" on their student record and/or still owe any outstanding payments to George Mason University. Emergency loan amounts will vary, not to exceed $1,000 and repayment in full is required within 90 days from the date the loan is approved. Applications may be obtained from the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Approved emergency loans may take up to one week to process.
