Carla Goodwin

Admissions Counselor

So I hear that you want to be a Patriot! My name is Carla Goodwin and I am beyond excited to help guide you along this journey as an Admissions Counselor at George Mason University.

As a born and raised New Yorker, I am looking forward to meeting with students throughout New York and northern New Jersey. I joined the Mason Admissions team shortly after receiving my Bachelor’s in Psychology and African American Studies from Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, I worked for Residential Living and was heavily involved in several student organizations. This included the mentorship program, GirlTalk, that worked with students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in DC. Thus, I appreciate Mason’s easy accessibility to Washington, D.C. in addition to the wide selection of residence halls and student organizations to join. A major part of the undergraduate experience is the community into which you immerse yourself. Luckily at Mason, there is a little bit of something for everyone! In my free time, I love to listen to music, watch YouTube videos, and eat. This is why I am amazed by how many dining options there are at Mason.

I invite you to explore why George Mason is the perfect fit for you. As I grow in my career in Higher Education, I hope to encourage students to pursue their passions as they build upon not only their educational backgrounds, but also their sense of self. It would be my pleasure to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about the college application process. I look forward to hearing from you. Go Patriots!
