Graduation Speaker Information
Could You Be the Student Speaker at This Year's Graduation?
All prospective graduates are invited to compete for the Spring Commencement student speaker honor.
How to Apply:
- Compose an original script for a graduation speech that can be publicly performed within the allotted time frame: 5-7 minutes, no exceptions.
- Submit your speech to the University Events Office by the deadline: April 10, 2018 at 12:00 PM.
Please include the following:
- Email Address
- Script of speech
All submissions are judged by an impartial panel including representation by members of the administration, faculty, staff and students.
Once preliminary selections are made, those chosen by the committee will be invited to orally present their speeches to the committee for final selection on Thursday, April 19th starting at 3:30 p.m.
The 2018 Commencement Speaker will be announced on Friday, April 20.
Coaching and opportunities to practice your speech in the EagleBank Arena will be provided to the selected student speaker.
