Mason Participates in Operation Hat Trick

February 2, 2012

Through Auxiliary Enterprises, Mason is participating for the first time in a national program called Operation Hat Trick (OHT) to support the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center’s General Post Fund.

Originally, Operation Hat Trick began as a project of the University of New Hampshire’s Athletics Department to provide headwear to injured soldiers in the VA Medical Centers to hide medical dressings, burns and scars.

As other universities got interested in the project, it evolved into a fundraiser for the Post Fund. Mason has joined the effort with two hat designs that are being sold in the University Bookstore in the Johnson Center.  The hats have the Mason Patriots logo on the front and the OHT logo on the back.

A portion of the sales proceeds from a Mason OHT hat will support the recovery of wounded soldiers and veterans through the Post Fund.

If you would like to purchase a bulk order of these hats, please contact David Atkins at datkins1@gmu.edu.
