Una Murphy, formerly executive director for advancement, Prince William Campus, in the Development Office, has been named the new director of outreach for the Dulles corridor, Regional Campuses.

The new position was created to develop and enhance Mason activity in the corridor that includes Loudoun County, Tysons Corner and the Reston-Herndon area. Tysons and Reston-Herndon encompass the two largest concentrations of employment in Virginia. The Metro Silver Line, now under construction, will span this area extending to Washington Dulles International Airport.

In her new position, Murphy will work with many areas of the university — including the Office of the Provost, University Relations, Continuing and Professional Education and academic units — to cultivate current and new programs and activity initiatives. Murphy will represent Mason within this region to local businesses, corporations, government offices, nonprofit agencies and the community.

“I am delighted to have Una in this role. She is a wonderful ambassador on behalf of the university and will be a great asset in increasing our programming and activities in the Loudoun County and Dulles corridor areas,” says Kathleen Q. Johnson, assistant vice president for regional campuses.

Murphy’s office is in Room 215C at Mason at Loudoun, and she can be contacted at 703-993-8621 or umurphy@gmu.edu.
