Blackboard Upgrade/Outage During Winter Break

During winter break, Information Technology Services (ITS) will be moving Blackboard to a secure cloud hosting platform. This will increase reliability during peak usage periods, allow for faster bug fixes, and offer new features and functionalities from Blackboard.

Blackboard will be unavailable from approximately Tuesday, December 26, through Saturday, December 30. There will be no access to myMason/Blackboard including Courses, Organizations, and Collaborate during this period.

Instructors can prepare spring 2018 courses as normal until Blackboard becomes unavailable on December 26. Course content will not be affected with this maintenance and will be accessible once the site is available again.

Users will notice some slight interface modifications, but there will be no changes to workflows or tool locations. Following this maintenance, the Blackboard website will be more easily accessible on mobile browsers, and several new features will be available.
