February 22, 2018
Foreign Policy Magazine this week named two of George Mason University’s graduate degree programs among the Top 50 in the world for careers in international relations.
The Washington, D.C.-based global affairs publication ranked Mason in a three way tie for No. 36 for “Top Master’s Programs for Policy Career in International Relations” and No. 47 for “Top PhD Programs for Academic Career in International Relations.” Both programs are housed in Mason’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
“Our programs in international affairs are taught by leading scholars and practitioners, right in the Washington community. Students learn critical skills to pursue careers in foreign policy making, international security, international commerce and diplomacy,” said Mark J .Rozell, dean of the Schar School.
Foreign Policy Magazine collaborated with the Teaching, Research and International Policy project at Virginia’s College of William & Mary to tabulate the international “2018 Ivory Tower” survey.
More than 1,500 international relations scholars from around the United States were asked to list the Top 5 institutions in their fields. The schools were ranked according to the percentage of respondents who listed the school. See the rankings here.
